School Hours

School timings: Monday to Friday – 8:45 am to 3.15 pm (EYP/PYP/MYP)

School timings: Monday to Friday – 9:00 am to 1:00 pm (FYP)

School timings: BLISS Saturdays – 8:45 am to 1:00 pm

Day Care Services: 

Monday to Friday & 1st and 3rd Saturday – 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm

Holidays- 09:00 am to 6:00 pm

Note: 

  • The school gate closes at 9:15 am.
  • Students arriving late will be required to get a note signed at the frontdesk before proceeding to the classes. Please be aware that students who consistently arrive late will face disciplinary consequences.
  • In case parents would like to meet the coordinators or the facilitators , they are required to make a prior appointment between 3:30 pm to 4:00 pm on Monday to Friday or on BLISS Saturdays with prior appointments. For appointments, please write to the respective Homeroom facilitators.

 

Uniform and discipline

BIS fosters uniformity fostering pride, and forging a visual symphony of purpose. All students are required to wear uniforms as per the day schedule. 

 

The School uniform will include the following:

  • Regular Polo uniform (T- shirt and Track pant)
  • House Uniform  (T- Shirt and shorts)
  • Hoodie 
  • Socks
  • Shoes

  • Students are required to wear clean washed and ironed uniforms and are expected to be well groomed at all times. 
  • On days that require them to wear casual clothes, they must dress smartly. 
  • Children are not allowed to wear jewellery and must not bring valuables to school. The school does not assume responsibility for mobile phones, money, jewellery and other costly articles if lost.
  • Minimum attendance expected for all students is 85%. In case the attendance falls below this, parents will be called for a meeting.

ID Cards

A RFID ID card will be issued for all the students. It is mandatory for all students to wear their RFID cards to enter the school bus and premises of the school. In case the card is lost, it must be immediately reported to the Homeroom Facilitator. A new card will be issued at an additional cost.

Attendance and Leaves

  • Details of holidays are communicated in the student’s handbook in the calendar section. Parents are requested to plan their short and long holidays accordingly and not to avail additional holidays.
  • Minimum attendance expected for all students is 85%. In case the attendance falls below this, parents will be called for a meeting.
  • In the event of any emergencies, parents are requested to put in a leave application via email, for full day or half day absence from the school, addressing it to the HRF or call the front desk officer.
  • Those children who remain absent for even a single day, must get their leaves record completed and duly signed by their parents.
  • In case of protracted illness, an application must be sent to the HRF mentioning the reasons for long absence along with a medical certificate from a registered physician.
  • Absence from school on accounts of celebrations, marriages or other functions within the family requires intimation to the HRF prior to the leave.The child must take the ownership of completing his/her assignments/ task sheets/home reinforcements.
  • The student must take the responsibility for covering the syllabus/assessment missed during unexplained and unauthorized absences.
  • Missing assessments due to personal reasons is not permitted. The student will be marked absent for such assessment and the same may reflect in the performance report.
  • Summative assessments/Mid-term Assessments/Term-end assessments will not be preponed or postponed to accommodate the leaves taken by students. However, they can be rescheduled, in case of a medical emergency, provided medical documents are produced.

Assessment

The assessments at BIS adhere to the IB standards and practices. The assessments allow the students to showcase their conceptual and contextual understanding. The analysis made by the facilitator is based on the achievement level as provided by the IBO. All forms of plagiarism are prohibited and will have consequences as mentioned in the Academic Integrity Policy of the school.

Inclusion

Inclusion is a way of thinking and behaving which helps each person to feel welcomed, respected, and secure. At BIS we understand that every child is unique and special. We ensure children with different learning needs to be part of our school. We provide an environment for enhanced learning and expect that parents are able to play their part in supporting their ward’s education. The school is aligned to IB philosophy “Inclusion is an ongoing process that aims to increase access and engagement in learning for all students by identifying and removing barriers.”

ICT

The school supports learning through technology and gadgets. The students are responsible for handling the devices with care. Moreover, any type of inappropriate use of the gadgets and the internet will have consequences as per the ICT policy of the school. Students are restricted to create hangout groups with peers. The HRF will create a grade-specific hangout group for important communications as required.
