Diploma

The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB DP) is a rigorous and globally recognized pre-university education program designed for students aged 16 to 19. Developed by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO), the IB DP is renowned for its comprehensive and holistic approach to education, emphasising critical thinking, research skills, and international-mindedness.

BLISS International School is a candidate school for the Diploma Programme. This school is pursuing authorization as an IB World School. IB World Schools share a common philosophy- a commitment to high-quality, challenging, international education- that we believe is important for our students.

At BIS, this programme will consist of a well-rounded curriculum that encompasses six subject groups: Language and Literature, Language Acquisition, Individuals and Societies, Sciences, Mathematics, and the Arts. Students are required to study subjects from each group, ensuring a balanced and diverse academic experience. Additionally, the IB DP places a strong emphasis on the development of the learner profile attributes, which include being inquirers, knowledgeable, thinkers, communicators, principled, open-minded, caring, risk-takers, balanced, and reflective. One of the distinctive features of the IB DP is the Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) component, which encourages students to engage in a range of extracurricular activities that foster personal growth and community involvement.

The Extended Essay, a 4,000-word independent research project, and the Theory of Knowledge (TOK) course further enhance critical thinking skills and the ability to connect different areas of knowledge.
